Lotto New Zealand, formerly trading as New Zealand Lotteries Commission, is delighted to announce its partnership with the prestigious Audi quattro Winter Games NZ in Queenstown and Wanaka this August. As part of its sponsorship Lotto New Zealand will be creating a games-centric village right beside Lakes Wakatipu and Wanaka where athletes and spectators can join together and enjoy all the Games has to offer.
The two ‘Lotto Villages’ will be live for the eleven-day duration of the Games and includes a glamorous Big Wednesday Luxury Lounge and The Powerball Garden Bar. Guests will be invited to enjoy refreshments, live entertainment and have the chance to win great prizes playing all their favourite Lotto games like Instant Kiwi, Powerball and Big Wednesday. The Lotto Villages will also be the venues for all Winter Games NZ medal ceremonies.
Lotto New Zealand’s Chief Executive, Wayne Pickup said: “We are very excited to be partnering with Winter Games NZ. The opportunity was a natural one for us to take up as we are a big supporter of local sporting talent. It’s a fantastic event in the sporting calendar and gives us a great chance to connect with the community in a fun environment”.
Audi quattro Winter Games NZ chief executive, Arthur Klap said: “Lotto New Zealand’s sponsorship is enabling us to create our strongest ever downtown presence and to engage more with both the local community and visitors. The twin Lotto Villages in Queenstown and Wanaka add a new dimension to the Games and will be the place to be off the mountain.”
Through the Lottery Grants Board, Lotto New Zealand transferred over $200 million to New Zealand communities in 2013. Sport NZ is the largest recipient of lottery funding, receiving over $34 million last year alone. Lotto New Zealand also supports sports volunteers nationwide through the Lotto Volunteer Foundation and will be providing uniforms for all Games volunteers.
